You’re not broken—you adapted to what you lived through.

If that line resonates, there’s probably more going on beneath the surface than what looks like the “problem.”

Many of the struggles people bring to therapy—feeling anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in patterns, disconnected in relationships, or relying on substances or other coping strategies—often trace back to earlier experiences where emotional needs weren’t fully met, safety wasn’t consistent, or you had to adapt to survive.

What helped you then may not be helping you now.

I help adults understand and heal the deeper roots of emotional pain—especially trauma, childhood family dynamics, and long-standing nervous system patterns that keep people stuck in survival mode.

I’m Devon Roach, LMSW, CAADC.

My work is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, and Compassionate Inquiry. Together, we focus on helping you understand your patterns, regulate emotions more effectively, and create lasting change that goes beyond surface-level coping.

For some clients, substance use is part of that story—but it’s rarely the whole story. We work at the root so that change is sustainable.
P.S. It’s okay if you don’t have everything figured out yet. Most people don’t know when they start.
